A proposed two centre tour to Rajasthan and Kerala...

Please note that the itinerary is indicative at this stage, and is subject to confirmation.

Day-by-day itinerary

 

Day 1 – We meet at Heathrow Airport at 17:45 for our Jet flight departing at 20.45 to Delhi arriving...

Included: flight, meals on flight. Not included: other meals, travel to Heathrow, incidentals.

 

Day 2 – ...at  09.45. We board our coach to Old Delhi then enjoy a guided rickshaw ride to the bustling spice market followed by a visit to Parathewali Gali – a whole street lined with shops specialising only in Parathas (Indian flat bread).  After checking into our hotel the afternoon is free to relax until dinner at Chor Bizarre restaurant – where you’ll enjoy a range of different regional dishes.

Day 3 – After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our flight to Jaipur.  We drive to Samode Bagh, a lovely “tented” hotel in the ancient Maharaja’s gardens. On the way, we stop at village where we’ll see a demonstration of local village cooking.  In the afternoon, we visit the magnificent Samode Palace, setting for the film the Far Pavilions. Dinner will be at Samode Bagh.

Day 4 – This morning after checking out of ther hotel, we travel to Amber Fort where we’ll be taken to the entrance by elephant (if available), then on to Jaipur city for sightseeing (Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace etc). We’ll have  Lunch at the Palace Café followed by a visit to the traditional “Halwais” where we’ll traditional Indian sweets being made and sold. We check into the Taj Jai Mahal hotel in the late afternoon. The highlight of our visit to the region is tonight’s Royal Dinner in the private residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur, in the city palace compound. You’ll enjoy this royal reception with its camels, elephants, rose petals and fabulous food, fit for a king!

Included: breakfast, Amber Palace visit, city tour, road transport, Royal Dinner, accommodation.  Not included: other meals, incidentals.

 

Day 5 – After breakfast we drive the 280 kms to Nagaur in the Rajasthan desert. The afteroon is free for you to relax and enjoy your surroundings. We have a sunset sand dune dinner with a “Cooking in the desert” demonstration by our chef after which we enjoy a cultural evening with tribal dancing and music.

Included: breakfast, road transport, cooking demonstration, sunset dinner, cultural evening accommodation.  Not included: other meals, incidentals.

 

Day 6  - Today you have a free day to relax in the resort – or you might like to take up one of the many options (e.g. camel safari, horse trek). There are even folk dances (Kalbelia), puppet shows, a snake charmer and magic shows to keep you amused!

Day 7 – This morning after breakfast we drive the 135 kms to Jodhpur where we check into our hotel. In the afternoon, we enjoy a city tour of Jodhpur visiting the Mahrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and evening stroll through Saddar Bazaar. In the early evening we see a demonstration of  “Royal Feast” dishes by our chef followed by dinner.
