Day 8 – Our destination is the romatic city of Udaipur – 266kms from Jodhpur. We break our journey for a lunch stop at the Maharani Bagh Orchard restaurant. The afternoon is free to relax at our hotel – the lovely lakeside Shiv Niwas Palace, originally the royal residence of Maharana Fateh Singhji. In the evening we take a
sunset boat ride across Lake Pichola to Jagmandir Palace for dinner at Dahisar Khana restaurant.

Day 9 – Today we have a city tour of Udaipur with a visit to the city palace. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the town. Evening dinner on the Sunset Terrace with it’s fabulous views across the lake.

Day 10 – We leave Rajasthan to travel south to Kerala by plane via Mumbai arriving in Kochi in the late afternoon where we check in to our hotel. In the evening our chef will give us an interesting demonstration on “Food for Body and Soul”.

Day 11 – After a leisurely breakfast we visit the bustling local market with our chef – we’ll see the local varieties of vegetables and fruit, as well as the famous Chinese fishing nets and fish market – with so many types of freshly caught fish! In the afternoon we visit the wholesale spice market in Mattancherry and the interesting Jewish area where you can shop for souvenirs, spices or just enjoy the atmosphere.

Day 12 – Today we travel to the Spice Village resort at Thekkady. After settling in, there is an afternoon demonstration by the chef on “Use of Spices in Indian Food” – where you’ll have a chance to have a go at some cooking yourself!

Day13 – A free day for activities (there’s plenty to choose from e.g. Periyar Widlife Reserve, ayurvedic massage) or you might like to relax in the resort – or explore the fascinating organic gardens where all the vegetables used in the hotel are grown. In the late afternoon we have an optional demonstration of Keralan style dishes. In the evening you can enjoy the traditional pre-dinner dancing demonstration.

Day 14 – This morning we take our coach to to Coconut Lagooon – a resort on the beautiful Keralan backwaters – only accessible by boat, with visits to a fascinating Spice Plantation and Tea Estate on the way. In the late afternoon enjoy a fun presentation on “The Coconut - King of Kerala”.

Day 15 - A free day to enjoy the resort – there are several restaurants, a pool, or you can go kayaking on the backwaters if you feel energetic, or just relax for the day!

Day 16 - A day on the water – today we depart on a relaxing backwaters cruise including a stop to see local fishing being done, with an opportunity to try some of the local food. Gliding along the calm and serene backwaters flanked by green trees and palms, seeing a rural Kerala preserved through the ages and completely hidden from the road is an enchanting experience. We return to our hotel in Kochi for a last tour dinner.

Day 17 - An early start takes us to Kochi airport for our 08.30 flight to Mumbai arriving at 10:15. We transfer to international terminal and on our Jet flight at 13:45 arriving at London’s Heathrow Airport at 18:30.
